Time Out Challenge # 54

Hello everyone and welcome to the TIME OUT challenge. Even though last weeks challenge was a short one, we still had a lot of entries with so many powerful sentiments. Our theme for this challenge is:

                                                HOME SWEET HOME

Isn't this cupboard amazing??!! It reminds me of when I travelled through Mexico. So many ways you can be inspired by this photo. Maybe you like the colours, the shape or the patterns? Its all up to you!!

And we are very lucky to have a Sponsor for this challenge, Happy Little Stampers. Kylie (who is the owner) is joining us as a Guest Designer for this challenge and will also give the winner a $15 gift certificate!!

We also have another Guest Designer for this challenge, Elisabeth from auf's papiergebracht. She creates the most beautiful CAS designs and has some wonderful gift bag ideas too. Its wonderful to have her with us!!

The first thing that caught my eye about this cupboard is the white flower on the front, surrounded by all that teal blue. I haven't done much heat embossing of late and thought this would a great idea:

I started off by stamping my floral images on a panel of white CS and embossing in white. I then used my mini-blending tool and Distress Ink 'Peacock Feathers' to blend over them, with the embossing 'resisting' the ink. Once it had dried I used a frame die to create the edge detail and adhered it to the card front.

The 'love ya' was die-cut once from a navy paint chip and then twice from white CS and glued together. This was glued to the card front along with the rest of the sentiment on a white CS strip. I added some sequins in gold and dark coral to pick up on some of the other colours on the cupboard.

The floral and sentiment stamps are from CAS-ual Fridays, as well as the 'love ya' die. I used a waffle-edge frame die from Pretty Pink Posh and the sequins are from Neat and Tangled.

I'm going to link this to the Simon Says Stamp - Monday Challenge where their theme is 'Try to Resist'.

You have two weeks to link your project to the TIME OUT challenge. And if you need any help with inspiration, the rest of the Design Team have created some gorgeous projects on the blog for you. I can't wait to see how your inspired by this photo and look forward to seeing you in the Gallery!!

Take care
