Reminder: The Flower Challenge # 13 - Our First Birthday!!

Hi there everybody!! Hope your weekend was as sunny and warm as mine, and if your weekend still hasn't finished, enjoy every last minute!!

This month at The Flower Challenge we are celebrating our 1st Birthday, which I still can't believe has come around so quickly. And our theme for this challenge is:

We all have our favourite floral stamps, dies and stencils, so if you don't have an actual image of one of your favourite flowers, we would love to see what your favourite floral product is!!

One of the Sponsors for this challenge is CAS-ual Fridays Stamps. I'm very proud to be on their Design Team and the owner Michele has generously given a $25 gift voucher to their store as one of the prizes. She has also given you all a code to use to save 20% on any purchases from CAS-ual Fridays Stamps using code 'flowerchallenge' until October 25th. So make sure you take advantage of this and grab those products you've had your eyes on!!

To honour CAS-ual Fridays Stamps I decided to use their products on my reminder card and used one of my favourite floral background stamps:

Yep, I went floral for a Christmas card!!! That's the joy of using flower images, they are good for so many types of cards!

I started off by stamping the background stamp 'Full On Floral' using Hero Arts Shadow Ink 'Tide Pool' on the card front. I then stamped it again on a piece of watercolour CS and heat embossed in gold. Using Distress Inks 'Peacock Feathers', 'Mermaid Lagoon' and 'Salty Ocean' I randomly painted the flowers, drying and repainting many times to get the bright colours I desired. Once I was happy I die-cut it using the large circle die from the 'Ornament Tag Fri-Dies' set. I used a hole punch and threaded through some gold thread and tied in a bow.

Foam tape was added to the back of the circle and it was placed on the card front. The sentiment (from 'Lovely Blessings') was heat embossed in gold as well and popped on foam tape, along with some gold sequins from Neat and Tangled.

You have until October 25th to link your projects to The Flower Challenge and pop over to the blog if your needing any help with inspiration, the rest of the Design Team will wow you with their creativity!!

There are so many amazing prizes to win this month, I don't want you to miss out so make sure you get your projects linked in time, the more the merrier and I can't wait to see them all in the Gallery!!

Take care
Shona
